April 2006

I want to give an extra big thank you
for the support and votes in the Primary. We had huge numbers all over
Illinois. We were the top Republican vote getter in the state and it was
consistent from North to South and East to West. THANK YOU!!

I was the guest on Dick Kay’s NBC Channel
5 ‘Chicago City Desk’ television show. Dick is a seasoned political reporter
and host who has been an integral part of the rough and tumble of Chicago
and state-wide politics for 30 years. I was honored to be his guest!

The
first part of April was the Legislative Session in Springfield and then on
the road to Dixon, DeKalb, Chicago, Collinsville, Bloomington, Mt Vernon,
Rock Island and points beyond. The Pontiac Bonneville started April with
208,485 miles on her!! She loves ethanol!
I did radio interviews with Kewanee, Mt.
Pleasant, Sparta, Jacksonville, Decatur, Bloomington, Marion, Carterville,
and Pontiac Stations.

Bumper Sticker Stories:
*Before my radio interview in Kewanee
started, the host said that his General Manager had just commented that he
had seen some of our bumper stickers in town….that made an impression.
*While going to park in Chicago before a
TV Show, a young guy saw our bumper sticker and flagged us down, wanting two
for his vehicles…...I had not met him before, but he said his father spoke
highly of us.
*John, a Precinct Committeeman from
Central Illinois, tells me when he was in Southern Illinois he came back to
his car in a parking lot when a man approached him asking for a Rutherford
bumper sticker, “because he had heard he was a good guy.”
To get a bumper sticker, just e mail
Barb@DanRutherford.org and tell her how many you would like…….Identity
is really helpful!

We had a wonderful fundraiser in the home
of Daniel and Kate Bryant in Lake Forest. I appreciate them opening their
home and inviting in friends. My good friend Congressman Mark Kirk was
gracious
enough to join us for the evening.
