Kind of a Blog
I truly do appreciate
all of the support and encouragement. Thank you, very much, for the kind words.
I feel good about our effort and proud of what we accomplished in the SoS race,
especially with such a formidable incumbent.
I am in the middle of
a four year Senate post, so have two more years in the term.
Some have asked if I
intend to run statewide again in 2010. It really is too early to say yes, but I
can assure that I am not saying no.
Presently, I intend to
continue the service to my Central Illinois constituency. I am honored to serve
them and will continue to do so in an aggressive manner.
Also, I want to be
helpful to bring new people in to the political process, encourage them to run
for office at all levels and, where I can, give them advice and help. I am doing
a fair bit of speaking around the state.
I am optimistic about
what tomorrow will bring.

Pontiac Bonneville
It’s a new year and the Pontiac Bonneville
is running great. We start 2007 with 246,620 miles on her. No problems, great
mileage, regular 3,000 mile service and ethanol at every occasion!
Dry Tortugas
I’ve
spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don’t know if I ever
quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall,
proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, windswept, God-blessed, and
teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace; a city with
free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity. And if there had to be
city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the
will and heart to get here. That’s how I saw it, and see it still.
