Dan's Diary

March  2006

"I went in to Early Vote since I was going to be out on the continuing campaign trail on Primary Day. I really do appreciate all of the support I have received from friends all over our great State."

We truly have a phenomenal Grass Roots base for our election to Secretary of State. A criterion many use to tell depth of support is the number of financial contributors to the campaign. There are thousands of smaller $ donors to our effort. We have some $1,000 & greater contributors, BUT most impressive is that we have 13,010 individual contributors; 1,708 first time givers in at the end of 2005 AND 197 first time in the month of January, 2006, and 287 first time contributors in February. Please invite others to help us become the next Secretary of State.

Get Your Blue Star!!

I can’t be at all the great events around the state, but am at several every day. I appreciate my friends and supporters that represent me at functions I cannot personally attend…..AND I really appreciate those who understand my absence.

Thanks for the help (for those I could attend and for those I was unable) in Adams, Jackson, Winnebago, DuPage, Woodford, my home of Livingston, Massac, Bond, Carroll, Crawford, Fayette, Cumberland, Franklin, Madison, St. Clair, Richland, Union, Champaign, Clark, Moultrie, Hancock, Douglas, Wayne, Tazewell, Henry, Perry, Will, Scott and Peoria Counties.

From Kankakee Journal Speak Out Call In

It was the day before my birthday, and I had to renew my driver's license.  So, I went down there to the Illinois Driver's Bureau in Bradley.  I waited a whole hour and a half, and then my face was crooked on the picture. I asked the guy if he could retake the picture.  He had the nerve to tell me that this wasn't Olin Mills or The Picture People.  I had to pay $10 to get a new license -- and then he actually made me pay another $5 to take my picture over.  I just don't understand it.

"Bumper stickers are popping up all over. I was even told by someone in Springfield that they are seeing them all over the place! Send me the photo of your sticker displayed and I will post it (we want the license plate number blocked so the present SOS cannot track you down)."

Our logo is up and about; it is launched and on the road…..thanks Steve!!

We now have a handout asking people for their suggestions for improvements with the Secretary of State’s Office. Feel free to print your own, or let Barb know how many you would like sent to you for your own distribution. They will be Z folded and are great for Precinct walks, envelope stuffing or handouts. Thanks for the help.
