May 2006

FROM FRIENDS
OF DAN:
May 26 is Dan’s Birthday!! If you care to send him a Birthday greeting and a
special Birthday contribution to his Campaign Committee, you can do so at:
https://egon.cmititestbank.com/danrutherford/contribute/contribute.asp
Without giving his age, you might want to make a Birthday Contribution of
$51. On the contribution page there is a section for “Comments”; feel free
to send Dan a Birthday Greeting from there and we will be sure he personally
receives it.

Bumper Sticker Stories:
Kevin: “Bottom line!
I put your stickers on all company vehicles and povs and the feed back is
great. I have requests for at least 20 more of your bumper stickers from
other self employed truckers that are totally fed up with Whites fee
increases for trucks. Please send me at least 20 stickers and they will be
put to good use.”
********************************************************************************************
We had run completely out of
bumper stickers, ordered another 15,000 and they just arrived. They are
popping up all of the state. A friend told me he saw one in the window of a
person’s apartment in Chicago!
Send me the photo of your sticker displayed
and I will post it (we want the license plate number blocked so the present
SOS cannot track you down).

To get a
bumper sticker, just e mail
Barb@DanRutherford.org and tell her how
many you would like…….Bumper Sticker identity is really helpful!

Spring has been busy with Legislative
Session and speaking at functions in Cook, Jefferson, Scott and Rock Island
Counties. The Pontiac Bonneville
started May with 212,000 miles on her!! She loves ethanol, but not
the gas prices.

We have been pumping mail out to our supporters and it
does take a lot of work. I want to give a special thanks for this effort
to my Mom, Carol, and Sister, Debi. They have put in long hours, nights
and weekends. Also, glad that Elaine has joined the team to help.
The mailing effort brings in the scores of volunteers
and for that I am appreciative. A big appreciation goes to my Aunt Edna
Mae and cousins Marge & Wayne for all the stamping and stuffing.

Please do send me pictures of efforts for our campaign,
whether it is parade walkers, our bumper stickers, or booths at fairs....I
will post them on my Diary. They really do not have to be professional
photos. Here is a picture I personally took of someone's foot during our
fundraiser in Jacksonville. Ooops!
