Dan's Diary

November 2005

Reception with Speaker Hastert and the Illinois Congressional Delegation

Open House with GOP Chairman Ken Mehlman

I was thrilled that Republican National Party Chairman Ken Mehlman decided to host an Open House for me in Washington, D.C.  Later that evening, U.S. Speaker of the House Denny Hastert and the Illinois Congressional Delegation will headline a fundraiser for my Secretary of State campaign.  It is a great honor to be recognized by Republican leaders on the national level!

Senator Rutherford and Garry Collett, President of Teamster's Local #26

I am honored to have been chosen “Legislator of the Year” by the Teamsters Joint Council 65.  The Teamsters work hard to promote economic stability in the region, as well as workplace safety for the many hard working men and women of Illinois.  It was with great pleasure that I received such recognition. The parades continue, even if Dan cannot personally attend them all.

Illinois Chamber of Commerce calls it right in their "Political Insider" newsletter on my intentions for SOS.

Petitions are being circulated now to get our name on the ballot. They are really coming in strong. We do want to have thousands signed and we are right on track for reaching our goal. In fact, Livingston, Ford, Putnam and Marshall have already reached their Goal and are moving strong towards their Super Goal!!

I would like to thank professional photographer Matt Ferguson who took the time to lend his services for our new portrait photo’s. Matt has been the official photographer of Governors Thompson, Edgar and Ryan and has a great deal of expertise. I would like your help in choosing which photo(s) you think I should use for our campaign materials. Let me know your choice(s) by sending an e mail: danrutherford@danrutherford.org
